Max Verstappen is staying at Red Bull through 2030 and it’s done. Reports put his base salary at around €92 million per year from 2027, potentially rising to €115 million with bonuses. Slotting him behind the likes of Messi,LeBron(goat) and Ohtani on the Forbes list. 🏎️

Austin Hill is confirmed full-time in the No. 33 Chevrolet at RCR for 2027. Hill stepped into the car under incredibly difficult circumstances after Kyle Busch’s passing in May and has been running double duty in Cup and the O’Reilly Series ever since. He’s won 16 races with RCR in the O’Reilly Series and now gets his shot at the top level full-time. 🏁

Rockingham Speedway was absent from the 2027 NASCAR schedule and could be changing hands within the next 30 to 60 days. The IHRA is dealing with financial instability and Track Enterprises president Bob Sargent says conversations about a potential acquisition are already underway. 🏁

Ligier has confirmed its first three customers for the new JS P228 LMP2 car ahead of the 2028 regulation overhaul. Algarve Pro Racing, Inter Europol Competition, and Panis Competition are all in three teams that previously ran Ligier before Oreca’s dominance made the 07 the only realistic option. The new rules reduce approved chassis suppliers to just Ligier and Oreca. 🏆

Qatar and Abu Dhabi are still on the calendar but the ongoing Middle East conflict has both races under threat, and CEO Stefano Domenicali confirmed a decision won’t come before mid-September. Domenicali ruled out a Las Vegas double-header and a second COTA race outright. Imola is the most realistic European backup with a December finale on the table. 🏎️

IndyCar’s inaugural Freedom 250 in Washington D.C. just got bigger. The race has been extended from 125 to 147 laps to create a true 250-mile race in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. It runs through Pennsylvania Avenue and around the National Mall on August 23 and the extra laps are expected to force at least one additional pit stop. 🇺🇸

Pfaff Motorsports is leaving IMSA at the end of the season after building one of the most respected programs in the paddock. The Ontario-based team won GTD and GTD Pro titles in 2021 and 2022 with Porsche before moving to McLaren and then Lamborghini. Owner Chris Pfaff is shifting focus to developing Canadian Tire Motorsport Park into a year-round facility but left the door open for a future return in some form. 🏁

Carson Brown is making his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut at Iowa Speedway this weekend in the No. 32 for Jordan Anderson Racing. The 18-year-old RCR development driver leads the ASA STARS National Super Late Model Tour with four wins in six starts this season and is considered a candidate for a full-time O’Reilly seat for 2027 🏁

The Grand Prix of Cleveland was held at the Burke Lakefront Airport, the runway turned into one of the widest, fastest. The layout allowed for more side by side racing. Fans liked it because they could see almost the entire track from the stands.
