Arrow McLaren is expected to test FIA Formula 2 champion Leonardo Fornaroli later this offseason, giving one of Europe’s top young talents a chance in IndyCar machinery. Team principal Tony Kanaan made it clear Formula 1 remains the priority, but with evaluation day rules limiting repeat drivers, Fornaroli is the logical next option. It does not guarantee a future seat, but it shows Arrow McLaren is still looking globally for talent.

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem says V8 engines are set to return to Formula 1 by 2031, with a possible move even sooner if manufacturers agree. After years of hybrid complexity and debates over battery management, the sport may be shifting back toward louder, lighter, and simpler power units. He said V8s would keep minor electrification while bringing back the sound many fans miss.

Acura’s planned exit from IMSA GTP after 2026 continues to spark discussion, with HRC US boss David Salters pointing to rising costs and supporting the elimination of Evo changes. Acura says the move is more of a pause than a full cancellation, while shifting focus toward IndyCar. Salters suggested the current system adds expense and instability rather than helping competition. A return in 2030 under new rules remains possible, but for now IMSA loses a major factory player.

Hunter Lawrence grabbed momentum at the perfect time in Denver, dominating Round 16 and setting up a winner-take-all finale with Ken Roczen in Salt Lake City. Lawrence won by over 13 seconds while Roczen finished second, trimming the championship gap to just one point. Eli Tomac returned from injury and grabbed the podium in front of the home crowd. After one of the tightest seasons in years, the title now comes down to one final race.

In 2003, Gordon swapped cars with Juan Pablo Montoya at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, getting behind the wheel of the Williams FW24. The original plan was just a TV feature but it quickly turned into real conversations with F1 teams. Gordon later admitted, “There were a lot of discussions that got more serious than I thought they would,” as he began to consider whether he could actually make the switch. At the Spanish GP Gordon ended up meeting with Jaguar officials on what was supposed to be just a vacation.

The interest kept building. He spoke with Frank Williams and was even part of earlier talks tied to Jacques Villeneuve and the BAR project, while Bernie Ecclestone pushed for an American star in the sport. Gordon admitted the challenge ultimately held him back, saying, “Could I train my neck enough to do this… could I be competitive? I thought it was too steep a climb.”

The team’s transporter caught fire on I-5 north of Bakersfield while traveling to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for this weekend’s race. Early reports say the fire may have started from an axle failure. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The status of the No. 36 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and equipment is still unknown. A brutal setback for a team heading into race weekend.

After attending the 2026 Philadelphia Supercross, it’s hard to understand why. For around $130 total, you get a full day at the stadium, FanFest access, rider autographs, and racing from noon until night. Compared to many major NASCAR, IndyCar, or F1 events, the value stands out immediately.

What surprised me most was the access. FanFest felt like the closest thing to a NASCAR garage pass, with fans able to walk near team rigs, meet riders, and actually feel connected to the sport. The people there weren’t casual either. They knew the riders, teams, and storylines and willing to get you up to speed.

And the racing product backs it up. Supercross provided great racing even in muddy conditions. People stayed all day in the rain because the show was worth it. If more mainstream racing fans gave this sport one live chance, I think a lot of them would be hooked.

Now focused on rallying, she’s preparing for a potential future in the World Rally Championship, with Rockstar Energy backing helping support that next step.

That don’t count. You driving a car. You can be behind the wheel of a car in your 60s and 70s for crying out loud.” Golfers got the same treatment, with Smith saying walking 18 holes doesn’t make you an athlete and that “if you’re out there doing stuff that grandmas and grandpas can do” he’s not calling you one.

He did draw a line between skill and athleticism though. Smith acknowledged drivers and golfers are “elite at what they do” and “phenomenally skilled” he just refuses to put them in the athlete conversation. The only exception he made was Tiger Woods, and even that had nothing to do with golf and everything to do with his physical build.
